Au revoir, dear Patricia!

On Friday 24th March at Terroirs Wine Bar, we bade a very fond and magnum-filled retirement farewell to Patricia Sliwa, who for many a year has traipsed the length and breadth of this sceptr’d isle on behalf of Les Cavistes, spreading the mantra of terroir and natural wine to the bewildered natives.

Patricia has been seemingly indefatigable, driving unfeasible distances hither and yon in all weathers on this country’s motorways and A-roads, and during - and because of - her travels and travails, she has developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the nation's great empire of budget hotels. She even went as far as the Isle of Man on several occasions - but it was closed.

Her efficiency, precision, enthusiasm and loyalty will be sorely missed by her customers and colleagues alike, as well as her great sense of humour and French pas-de-bull-merde-meets-English irony, which endears her to all. We wish her and her husband, Peter, the happiest of retirements together.

Patricia has been a crucial part of the Les Caves family; we will miss her greatly but hope that she will always stay in touch and continue to be part of that family.
