We're not too sure about this Dry January business, but we can appreciate that January is a time to wind things in after December's overindulgence! So, in answer, we give you a low ABV mixed case...
White (2 of each)
AMEZTOI, TXAKOLI DE GETARIA, NORTH SPAIN, 2018 - 10.5%
100% Hondarrabi Zuri. A wine from vineyards overlooking the Bay of Biscay in Basque country. Pale green, faint aromas of green apples and plums, very light bright, sharp and salty with biting acidity and a savoury saltiness as well as the classic Txakoli "spritz".
TILLINGHAM WHITE, EAST SUSSEX, 2018 - 10.5%
100% Tempranillo Blanco. Pale yellow colour. Nose of white fruits and lemon. Fresh, delicate wine with a touch of creaminess and a zippy finish.
ERIC BORDELET, POIRE GRANIT, NORMANDY, 2018 (PEAR CIDER) - 5%
Made up of 15 pear varieties. Pale yellow with fine bubbles and a delicate nose of conference and williams pears. Bright in the mouth with an initial hint of sweetness more than balanced by the zesty acidity. Chalky flavours with notes of fresh herbs, mint and quince.
Reds (2 of each)
MONTE DALL'ORA, VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO SASETI, VALPOLICELLA, 2018 - 11.5%
Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta. Ruby red with purple reflections. The nose expresses red fruit and cherry with notes of mint. The palate is juicy, fresh and light.
FRANZ WENINGER, BLAUFRANKISCH, BURGENLAND, AUSTRIA, 2017 - 12.5%
100% Blaufränkisch. Sour cherry, black olives and dark berries on the nose. The palate is very fresh with lots of fruit, vivacious acidity and spicy tannins.
ELIAN DA ROS, LE VIN EST UNE FETE ROUGE, MIDDLE GARONNE, FRANCE, 2017 - 12.5%
40% Abouriou, 40% Cabernet franc, 20% Merlot. Fruity and fresh with great drinkability. Light in colour and body with juicy-crunchy red fruits to the fore - and aft.
