Grape Variety: Salte

Colour: Red

Salte is an obscure red grape from Syria (I think), a row which can be found nestling in the vineyards of Mas de Daumas Gassac in the Languedoc. It is so obscure that 1. I’m not sure it exists or is a figment of my feverish imagination; 2. if it does exist that I have spelt it correctly; 3. that is Syrian. The only thing a google search reveals is a YouTube extract of “My Silver Syrian hamster eating a Grape cutely”.
