Grape Variety: Pinot Nero

Colour: Red

Pinot Nero is Pinot Noir by another (Italian name). Pinot in Italy lives mainly in Alto-Adige (where it is sometimes known as Blauburgunder), Trentino and pockets of Friuli. Bruno Gottardi, who cultivates vines in the especial microclimate of Mazzon where cool northern breezes provide relief from the high temperatures elsewhere in the valley, makes one of the best examples of this variety in the whole of Italy.
