A Georgian red grape, which can be blended with another principal red grape of Eastern Europe - Saperavi - see the Old Tibilisi dry red Saperavi-Dzelshavi (Kakheti region, Georgia) - the colour is deep purple, reminiscent of a ‘teinturier’ grape such as Alicante - The nose casts up warm berry fruit aromas and the palate bristles with acidity.
