As for the red Cannonau, this grape is used in Sardinia - see the Leila IGT Vendimia Tardiava from Alberto Loi (Cardedu, Sardinia) which is made from an unusual blend of Cannonau Bianco and other local white varieties and is matured in new oak - it has a bold golden hue and displays a generous nose of white flowers and fruits and yields sensations of ripe fruit (peach and pineapple) supported by balsamic and vanilla notes. Excellent with seafood pasta and even spicy and hot dishes.
