Otherwise known as the Roussette de Savoie, Altesse is found in the Savoie region of France. This grape is akin to the Hungarian Furmint and is exotically perfumed with good crisp acidity. Our Roussette de Savoie Cru Frangy from Bruno Lupin combines the mineral freshness of a mountain wine with a panoply of flavours reminiscent of pear, gingerbread and spice and even nougat. The mouthfeel is soft, mellow and off-dry - think Pinot Gris with stony acidity. Splendid with riverfish such as pike/perch, or veal, or Beaufort cheese.
